Hello,

We’re buying a house and making it our home, on a shoestring. This blog follows the trials and tribulations of trying to make home improvements with a very small budget, and very little DIY experience. I’m Miss B and with Mr B by my side (being the voice of reason, and often telling me NO) we’re hoping to turn our house into the home of our dreams.

I’m hoping to be able to upcycle a lot of what we need. Good for our budget, and good for the environment. For those of you who are new to upcycling it means renewing something old, and repurposing it for something new. It’s generally better than recycling as it uses less fuel and creates less waste.

I’m also hoping to make our home very personal. I’m into crafts and pretty things; I like the quirky home made touch. Mr B is into photography and computers; he likes his gadgets. Between us we have more than enough ways to make our house a home.

 We’re a couple with big ideas and a small house. Although we’ve both done some DIY in our past we’ve never taken on something of quite this scale before. Though we’re lucky enough to have some great family and friends who might help us along the way.
